How to measure your Dirndl:

Dirndl Measurements - 'Buam' and Men

DirndlWaist: Measure where you'd wear a belt - all the way around

Bust: Underneath your arms, across the widest part of your chest and around; Make sure you wear an appropriate bra while measuring (ideal: push-up)

Waist Length: Measure from highest part of shoulder down in front to the waist

Sleeve Length: Shoulder seam to sleeve hem

Shoulder to Shoulder is measured from one shoulder seam to the other (note: a lot of trachten jackets and blouses have a high shoulder seam esp. when they have puffed sleeves).

Skirt Length: Waist to hem of skirt

How do we measure?
The measurements given in the store are for the garments (size chart: body). We lay them out flat and measure them. For most dirndl dresses the measurement of your body (if you measured with a snug fit, but not too tight) is going to be the same as the mesurement of the dress. For jackets, coats and outerwear, take a garment that fits you well and compare! Remember, a dirndl has to fit tight - it is almost like a corset!
