This flower was frequently dried and pressed and framed to be used as a pendant - to remember the man who had found this flower and brought it to his love! Centuries ago the form of this pretty little flower was also used to make pendants and brooches of different material - mostly carved out of antler or made of different metals.
In the 1950's this flower got famous all over the world as synonym for Austria with the song Edelweiss of the Sound of Music Musical.
